The Premier Coatings 2-Day System
Every garage floor we install requires a minimum of two days. This gives us the time needed to properly prep your concrete, apply multiple coating layers, and allow for adequate curing between steps. Bigger spaces or unique challenges might need extra time, and that's perfectly fine because we're focused on getting it right, not getting it done fast. Before anything starts, we'll walk through your garage together, talk about what colors you like, and map out exactly how we'll handle your specific project.
Once everything is planned out, we'll pick a date that works for your schedule and get started. Nebraska Premier Coatings works with homeowners all around Nebraska, and we make sure quality work, staying in touch throughout the job, and your happiness guide everything we do.
DAY 1
Step 1: Grinding Down and Prepping Your Floor
Our first move is bringing in a heavy duty concrete grinder that strips away roughly 1/16 of an inch from your concrete's top surface. This gets rid of old stains, rough patches, and bumps left behind from any previous fixes. We follow up with smaller grinders to hit the corners and tight areas that the big machine can't reach. Our grinding equipment is designed to capture dust as we work, and we use powerful vacuums to pull away everything that's left behind. What you're left with is clean, smooth concrete that's ready to grab onto our coating system.
We follow this same careful prep work whether we're working in Omaha, Lincoln, or anywhere else across eastern Nebraska. Good preparation is what makes the difference between a floor that lasts and one that doesn't.
Step 2: Fixing Cracks and Damaged Spots
After grinding opens up the concrete, we can clearly see where repairs are needed. We fill every crack, damaged area, shallow spot, and rough section using a flexible epoxy resin. This material is thin enough to seep way down into the concrete, which creates a really strong hold. It sets up fast, usually within just a few minutes, and locks everything together. Then we run a smaller grinder over the fixed areas to make them level with everything around them.
No matter where you are in Nebraska, this repair work ensures your garage floor is solid and ready for the coating layers that come next.
Step 3: Laying Down Epoxy Layers and Adding Color Flakes
Now that your floor is prepped and fixed, we roll on our first epoxy coat, which is a 100% solids self-priming material that soaks down into the concrete and locks the base together. Depending on the concrete we will thin the material out to get deeper penetration and then roll a second coat at full strength. This builds up a substantial foundation for whatever decorative flakes or quartz you've chosen. What we're doing here is completely different from those companies advertising one day installs who just put down one thin coat and call it done.
We serve customers throughout Nebraska and take pride in building floors the right way with layers that create real durability, not shortcuts that look good initially but fail down the road.
DAY 2
Step 4: Adding the Final Protective Coat
We come back the next day to scrape off any flakes that didn't stick and vacuum everything clean. Then we roll out our final polyaspartic topcoat using a formula that cures slowly and has high solids content. This lets us apply it thicker and more evenly. A lot of cheaper products have less solid content, which means they go on thin and leave behind too much texture that traps dirt and makes cleaning harder. Those products also tend to look splotchy and uneven when they're finished.
Our method takes more time but gives you a smooth surface that's easy to keep clean and looks great consistently, whether your garage is in Omaha, Lincoln, or any other Nebraska community we serve.
